Policies

What families should know

Registration & eligibility
Players must register in the correct age group under U.S. Soccer birth year guidelines, complete all online registration forms, provide proof of age, and submit required waivers. Team placement and roster assignments are made by Academy leadership based on skill, attitude, and commitment, with state-association transfer rules applying when players move between clubs.
Fees, refunds & financial assistance
Academy fees are set annually and cover items such as registration, insurance, league entry, referees, uniforms, and field use. Payment plans may be available when possible. Refunds are typically only considered for injury, relocation, or significant hardship, and once uniforms are ordered or league rosters are submitted, refunds are generally not available. Financial aid may be offered based on need and available club resources.
Training, attendance & playing time
Teams are expected to train at least twice per week during the active season, and attendance matters unless a player is excused by the coach. The Academy emphasizes technical skill, tactical understanding, teamwork, and respect, with equal development opportunities prioritized especially in non-competitive age groups. Coaches work to balance long-term player growth with the standards of each team and level.
Conduct, safety & communication
Players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and team staff are expected to represent Summit Valley United Academy with respect and professionalism. Parents may support positively, but should not coach from the sideline or confront officials, players, or staff publicly. Coaches and volunteers must complete required safety, background, and risk-management checks, while official club communication should come through approved Summit Valley United channels or designated team platforms.
